Athens, 22 May 2025 – Passionate for motion, evolution and transformation, MOTODYNAMICS Group participated for the fourth time in the Navarino Challenge, the leading sports tourism and wellness event, held on 9-11 May, at Costa Navarino and Pylos, in Messinia. Driven by its DNA values, the Group undertook a series of actions integrating Sports, Education, Road Safety, the Environment and the Support for Fellow People with mobility challenges.
As Gold Sponsor of the event together with SIXT, a member of the Group, which also participated as a Premium Mobility Partner, MOTODYNAMICS Group implemented the following innovative actions:
Navarino Challenge Talks powered by MOTODYNAMICS Group
For the first time, the Group invested in fostering a meaningful dialogue on the concepts of equality, diversity, social inclusion and positive change. Through personal narratives, experiences and examples of leading personalities who transform challenges into a driving force, the public had the opportunity to be inspired, reflect and engage with contemporary social concerns. The event featured a series of inspiring speeches, offering participants the opportunity to hear the award-winning chef Hector Botrini talking on leadership; Olympic champion Dimitris Papanikolaou and his daughter Aria discussing the importance of inclusion; Olympic champion Antigoni Drisbioti referring to the key issue of recovery and returning to action after injury; motorsport coach Thanasis Chountras sharing major information on road safety; and Panagiotis Panoutsos Talkovsky with a compelling talk on sports integrity.
- Sports & Education
With a vision for a safer and more inclusive world, MOTODYNAMICS Group, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor, carried out a series of educational initiatives across the Region, focusing on the power of knowledge and awareness through sport and social responsibility.
Diversity Day: At the indoor stadium of Pylos and in Chora, dozens of students from all school levels across the Municipality had the opportunity to attend a special workshop on diversity. Keynote speaker was Dimitris Papanikolaou, former international basketball player and MOTODYNAMICS Group Ambassador, who gave a sincere and emotional account of his personal journey, highlighting the importance of acceptance, understanding and inclusion in our daily lives. The action empathy and open-mindedness among young people, offering vital inspiration for building a world free from discrimination.
“Drive Change Move Safe” road safety workshop: With road safety emerging as a national concern, the Group held an interactive workshop at the General High Schools of Pylos and Methoni to educate students on preventing road accidents. Thanasis Chountras, motorsport coach and road behaviour expert, highlighted the risks associated with carelessness, speeding, and a poor driving mindset. Through real-life examples, personal stories, and hands-on activities, students gained insight into how they can help build a safer society on the roads.
At the same time, acknowledging the value of access to knowledge, the MOTODYNAMICS Group, in collaboration with Library4All, donated a significant number of books to enhance the lending library housed in the historic residence of Olympic champion Konstantinos Tsiklitiras. This initiative aims to support reading and create a vibrant core of learning and culture for the region’s youth.
- 1km run for all
With the motto “All Unique – All Equal”, the 1km race powered by MOTODYNAMIKI Group was one of the most emotional moments of the event. People of all ages and abilities, including those with disabilities, ran side by side—demonstrating in action that sport is truly inclusive and for everyone.
The race was supported with their participation and their bright example of prominent personalities of sports. Among them were Grigoris Polychronidis, Paralympic champion and seven-time medalist; Giorgos Lazaridis, wheelchair tennis champion; Georgia Kaltsi, champion in fencing and wheelchair basketball; and physiotherapist Angelos Giakoumidis, a steadfast advocate for inclusion and accessibility.
The participation of the association of people with disabilities ‘DiaforoZO’ was especially moving, as its members conveyed a powerful message of optimism, acceptance, and equality.”
This was not a mere race, but a dynamic call to society for inclusion, equal treatment and respect for the uniqueness of each person.
- Mobility session powered by SIXT
SIXT supported an innovative mobility wellness and prevention action, dedicated to easing back discomfort and helping the body unwind from the stress of everyday life and sports. Under the guidance of specialised physiotherapists and health professionals from Joint Athens, participants were able to enjoy personal or group sessions aimed at rehabilitation and body care, enhancing the Navarino Challenge experience in a holistic manner.
- SIXT team at this year’s 4on4 basketball tournament
This year’s Navarino Challenge 4on4 basketball tournament was held with the enthusiastic participation of SIXT employees and friends, along with journalist Christina Vrahali, spreading the message of exercise, participation and fair play.
- The value of volunteering
Volunteers from the University of Piraeus played an invaluable role in the event’s success, supporting runners every step of the way, energizing them, and ensuring the seamless operation of the refreshment stations. Similarly, the energetic team of Humanity Greece acted as a driving force for the smooth operation of the race secretariat, offering passionate and professional human support at every stage of the event. All volunteer groups moved with confidence and safety thanks to the support of the MOTODYNAMICS Group, which ensured their transportation and overall logistics through its reliable fleet. Everyone’s contribution was valuable, proving that volunteering is not just an act of giving — it is a way of life.
- Mobility & Safety
Athletes and ambassadors of the event moved safely, with the renewed car fleet of SIXT, a member of the MOTODYNAMICS Group and Premium Mobility Partner of the 2025 Navarino Challenge. During the event, participants had the opportunity to admire the impressive Porsche Macan and Taycan at the hotel lobbies and to test drive them enjoying safe and premium driving.
In the context of the Navarino Challenge 2025, the track and field champion, Anastasia Marinakou, received an award from the Olympic champions Dimitris Papanikolaou and Evina Maltsi, as well as from Ms. Maira Passia, Sustainability & Corporate Communication Director of MOTODYNAMICS Group.
