Porsche selects an innovative and intuitive control system for the new Panamera: The Porsche Driver Experience focuses on the driver and reveals the perfect balance between analogue and digital controls. In a sporty mood, this car stands out in the luxury saloon segment thanks to the excellent quality and the extremely sporty style of its interior.
Stuttgart. In the new generation of models to be officially unveiled on November 24, 2023, the Porsche Panamera comes to impress with the Porsche Driver Experience driver-centric control system first seen in the Taycan. It offers a fully digital display, a wide range of customization options and intuitive operation. A key element of the overall approach is that all the driving-related controls are now grouped together and placed within arm’s reach of the steering wheel. This allows the driver to quickly and intuitively perform all key functions. It also simplifies the operation of the new Panamera in all driving situations, especially during dynamic driving.
The focus on the driver is evident in many details. For instance, the toggle switch for the navigation system in the options displayed on the instrument cluster and the driving mode selector have been placed directly on the steering wheel, while the gear selector is directly adjacent. This frees up space in the centre console for an elegant climate control panel that combines touch surfaces and physical switches in a solution that is both intuitive and elegant. New, electrically adjustable vents with no blades have been included in centre console. At the same time, it is possible to switch between many preconfigured and personalized climate control functions at the touch of a button. Moreover, the storage space in the centre console is even bigger than before.
The digital, stand-alone instrument cluster focuses on the driver’s needs and features a curved and stand-alone 12.6″ display with a distinctive design. Porsche divides the driving information displayed into three clear sections, which are configured in different ways depending on the trim level and the selected display mode. The additional optional head-up display can be operated directly from the sports steering wheel.
In general, the clean design lines and luxurious materials create a high quality and sporty atmosphere in the new Panamera interior. The new decorative approach impresses with the absolute consistency in style, starting from the centre console and the instrument panel and reaching all the way to the doors of the new Panamera. Combined with the steeply rising centre console, this new style uniquely characterises the Panamera cockpit. For the first time, Porsche is equipping the Panamera with ambient lighting on all panels, emphasizing the vehicle’s width. At the same time, all Panamera models offer even more comfort thanks to improved seat foam that combines comfort and enhanced elasticity. In addition, Panamera Executive models feature innovative rear seat contours that optimise posture. Thus, the rear passengers reach their destination more relaxed, even after a long trip.
In the new Panamera, Porsche offers choices in colours and materials based on high quality materials as well as a wide range of two-colour designs. Trim elements and uniquely styled touches are combined for an even more distinctive atmosphere. Some of them are manufactured by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. It is also worth noting that for the first time Porsche also offers leather-free materials in the vehicle’s interior, which combine sporty materials such as Race-Tex and Pepita fabric.

Porsche upgrades the Panamera: the third generation of the luxury sports sedan is characterised by a wider range of digital functions, fresh and expressive design, and a wider range of options between dynamic performance and driving comfort. With a more powerful E-Hybrid powertrain and a new high-spec suspension system, it confirms its reputation as the most dynamic saloon in its class.
Stuttgart. The Porsche Panamera launches its third-generation models. The sports car manufacturer’s luxury saloon underscores its sporty character with even more powerful powertrains. This profile is enhanced by the fully modernized operating concept and a number of innovative technologies. These include the new Porsche Active Ride suspension system which combines a noticeably improved level of comfort with the sporty driving characteristics that are typical for a Porsche. Integrating the user’s own digital ecosystem into the Porsche Communications Management System (PCM) offers new ways of interacting with the car. The technically flawless but at the same time elegant and dynamic design of the new Panamera adds a touch of renewal to the model’s already attractive proportions. A wide range of driver assistance systems and a completely revamped driver-centric interior take the driving experience to the next level.
An amazing feeling with state-of-the-art suspension systems
The new Panamera features two-chamber two-valve air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management System (PASM) as standard. The two-valve technology separates the return and compression stages of the shock absorber control system for even greater comfort and sportiness: the system noticeably absorbs vibrations from transverse connections and other road irregularities, while ensuring greater vehicle stability in dynamic driving conditions. The handling of the car can be improved even further with optional rear-axle steering system.
Moreover, the innovative Porsche Active Ride active suspension system is available as an option for the E-Hybrid models of the new Panamera. This system outperforms other suspension technologies in all important aspects, offering an unparalleled range of options between driving comfort and driving dynamics. This technology is based on newly designed active dampers – available with two-valve technology – that are connected individually to an electrically powered hydraulic pump. Thus, the flow inside the damper is adapted to the needs and, therefore, forces can accumulate between the body and the wheels in lightning time, with high precision and a targeted manner, almost balancing and compensating the forces resulting from road turbulence. This technology is complemented by a lighter single chamber air suspension system.
The chassis permanently keeps the Panamera body flat, even in dynamic braking, steering and acceleration manoeuvres. When driving is calm, the system absorbs turbulence almost completely. In dynamic driving situations, the Porsche Active Ride suspension system guarantees perfect grip on the road thanks to a balanced distribution of loads on the wheels.
When the corresponding function is activated, the suspension can overcompensate for reduced body inclinations to reduce the acceleration forces acting on the passengers. Thus, with this setting selected, the new Panarema “leans” in the corners as if it were a motorcycle. It sinks the front during acceleration and the back during deceleration. Once the car has come to a standstill, the Porsche Active Ride suspension system raises the body to the appropriate height to ensure comfortable entry and exit.
More electrical efficiency and fully upgraded engines
Porsche offers a total of four E-Hybrid powertrains for the new Panamera, in response to the high demand for this type of powertrain. All E-Hybrid models feature improved performance, range and efficiency. The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid is ready to go on the market. At the heart of the powertrain is a fully updated four-litre, turbocharged V8 engine. The performance of the new electric motor is 140 kW (190 PS). In total, the system’s output reaches 500 kW (690 PS). The system torque impresses at 930 Nm). Porsche integrates the electric motor into the housing of the completely redesigned PDK Dual Clutch eight-speed gearbox. Removing the separate electric motor housing saves about five kilograms of weight. Integrating the unit into the gearbox oil circuit also optimizes the heat balancing of the electric drive system and allows for a higher stable performance of the electric motor.
The Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 315 km/h. Its battery capacity is now 25.9 kWh. This ensures an electric range of up to 91 kilometres in the combined WLTP cycle or 83–93 kilometres in the city. The new 11 kW-AC onboard charger shortens the charging time at suitable charging stations to 2 hours and 39 minutes.
The Panamera and Panamera 4 models will also be available for the grand premiere. Modifications to improve pressure, fuel injection flow rate and ignition time have optimized the performance of the 2.9-litre V6 turbocharged engine. It now delivers 260 kW (353 PS) and 500 Nm of torque – an increase of 17 kW (23 PS) and 50 Nm compared to its predecessor. The Panamera 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time has thus dropped to 5.2 seconds, with a top speed of 272 km/h. The four-wheel drive Panamera 4 takes just 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 270 km/h.
Luxurious and sporty look in and out
The new Panamera retains the distinctive lines and proportions of the famous Porsche model. It has a length of 5,052 mm (Executive: 5,202 mm), a width of 1,937 mm and a height of 1,423 mm (Executive: 1,428 mm). Its fully refreshed appearance gives the sports saloon an even more expressive and sporty look. From the front, the additional intake manifold above the license plate compensates for the increased air requirements of the drive systems. The new side window line design enhances the saloon’s character of the four-door sports car. The outer edges of the rear windscreen fade out at the body contour for greater harmony with the vehicle’s rear.
The Porsche Driver Experience technology in the cockpit strikes the perfect balance between digital and analog controls and places the command inputs and outputs needed to drive along the driver’s axis. The gear selector is located just to the right of the steering wheel. The selector switch for the Normal, Sport and Sport Plus modes and the assistance system controls are also directly accessible to the driver. This means that the driver does not have to take their eyes off the road to control the driving modes and the assistance systems.
An optional front passenger display integrates the front passenger into the driving experience. The 10.9-inch display shows the currently selected vehicle performance data. It also allows the infotainment system to be operated and supports video streaming functions with the car on the go. In order not to distract the person behind the wheel, the front passenger display is not visible from the driver’s seat.
A more imposing Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid
The Turbo models occupy a special place in the Porsche world and are synonymous with high performance. Porsche went a step further by creating the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. Its exterior stands out with its distinctive rear apron with painted diffuser panels and a unique body-coloured front apron. It also features chrome-plated exhausts in dark bronze and optional central locking wheels that can also be selected for the other models.
Turbonite, a special colour for the Turbo models only, is used as a colour contrast in the side window strips and the Turbo logo on the rear of the vehicle, as well as on the top of the bonnet, on the wheels and on the steering wheel. In the interior, Turbonite is combined with carbon elements to create a sportier atmosphere. For example, it can be found in the central tachometer on the instrument panel and the controls on the central console.
Digital experience and new assistance systems
The new Panamera will become an integral part of the driver’s digital ecosystem. To connect to their personal Porsche ID, all customers will need to scan with their smartphone the QR code displayed on the PCM system. Through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto your smartphone connects to vehicle data for improved usability. The integration of vehicle functions from MyPorsche app into Apple CarPlay® enables optimized operation of digital functions, providing the driver with a better overview of the relevant data. Features such as air conditioning, seat massage and ambient lighting are now controlled directly via the Apple CarPlay® or Siri® voice assistant.
Matrix led headlights are now part of the Panamera’s standard equipment. The HD Matrix LED lighting system, with more than 32.00 pixels per projector, is available as an option. It offers brand new lighting features, such as dedicated lane lighting. Lighting range reaches 600 meters. Porsche has significantly upgraded the range of assistance systems in the new Panamera. The standard active speed assistant now interacts with the road sign recognition function. If the system is active, the Panamera automatically does not move faster than the current speed limit. The Porsche InnoDrive system with adaptive cruise control features active lane guidance and intersection assistance. A diversion assist system is now available. Another new feature, when parking automatically, is that the driver no longer needs to be in the car, although he/she still remains responsible for manoeuvring. You can monitor the parking process from your smartphone via the new Remote ParkAssist function.
