Yamaha Motor Greece and Yamaha Motor Europe are putting their commitment to the next generation of engineers into action, supporting initiatives that promote innovation and progress in the world of motorsport.
As part of this commitment, Yamaha Motor Greece, a member of the MOTODYNAMICS Group, has delivered two CP2 engines to two student teams competing in the international Formula Student competition.
The FSTUC (Formula Students Technical University of Crete) team was founded in 2020 and is the Formula Student racing team of the Technical University of Crete. To date, it has built three innovative racing single-seaters and has competed in international events in Italy, Croatia, and Greece. This year, the team is developing its fourth single-seater, aiming for even higher performance.
At the same time, the Minautor Racing Team, a dynamic, newly established team of students from the Hellenic Mediterranean University based in Heraklion, Crete, is making its first appearance in Formula Student this year, beginning its own journey into the world of motorsport.
The competition is one of the most important institutions worldwide in the field of engineering, challenging teams to design, build, and race single-seater Formula-type vehicles. It is not simply a race for speed, but a comprehensive test that evaluates technical excellence, innovation, and project management, preparing students for today’s industry.
The donated CP2 engines, which power iconic Yamaha models such as the MT-07, Tracer 7, and R7, make a substantial contribution to meeting the competition’s technical specifications, while offering high levels of reliability and performance, making them ideal for the demands of the event.
During the engine handover, a presentation was held on both the CP2 engine and Yamaha’s Y-AMT automatic transmission technology, giving students the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technological developments.
This initiative is part of the MOTODYNAMICS Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, in which support for education is a key pillar. Through actions such as this, the Group supports the next generation and actively contributes to strengthening innovation and developing the future professionals of the motorsport industry.
