Athens, September 3, 2026 – firefly, NIO’s new global lifestyle brand for urban mobility, represented in the Greek market by the MOTODYNAMICS Group, brings a new perspective to urban mobility, designed for the pace and demands of modern cities.
In line with its philosophy, it presents the artistic initiative “Freedom to Glow: Urban Artistic Perspectives,” an original creative project that captures the spirit of the brand within the urban landscape.
Drawing inspiration from the brand’s philosophy, five acclaimed Greek creators saw firefly through their own, independent lens. The result is a portfolio of images and videos, each with a different perspective and technique, together revealing the multifaceted character of the car within the authentic backdrop of the city.
Our starting point is freedom. Our mission is to create our own path. Inspiration is everywhere around us. Inexhaustible, boundless, luminous. This is the spirit of NIO’s firefly that the five creators set out to capture in their own uncompromising way, through a wide range of artistic expressions — from photography and fashion to comics, artificial intelligence, and contemporary art.
Specifically:
- Photographer Freddie Faulkenberry created the fashion editorial titled City Tribes, bringing together people from different backgrounds united by firefly’s free-spirited identity.
- Photographer Nikos Zikos explored nighttime Athens, weaving the city lights and firefly’s glow into a story titled Neon Nights, set within a cinematic urban backdrop.
- Photographer Marios Kazakos used artificial intelligence tools to create a fashion campaign from scratch titled Synthetic Streets, highlighting the role of technology in today’s visual communication.
- The visual artist known by the artistic name “B” brought his signature aesthetic style to the project, transforming the Athenian canvas into a colorful artistic portfolio titled Athens Remixed, featuring firefly.
- Graphic designer Thodoris Lalagkas created a comic story titled Electric Issue, in which firefly wanders through iconic spots of the city in an alternative form of storytelling.
The “Freedom to Glow: Urban Artistic Perspectives” initiative highlights firefly’s creative character, as well as the belief that freedom is a way of life. firefly reveals the glow within us.
- The Freedom to Glow: Urban Artistic Perspectives initiative was based on an idea by Maira Passia, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at MOTODYNAMICS Group, and was carried out under the supervision of Sofia Mitraki, Head of NIO Greece, and Lefteris Karagiannis, Marketing Supervisor of NIO Greece.
- Curator: Fotis Tsimelas
